WHAT SHOULD I BRING PERSONAL CARDS TO JAPAN?

???? Weight to be brought to Japan (depending on fare):✈
Utensils will be divided into 2 categories:

– Checked baggage: About 20kg

– Hand luggage: No more than 7kg

In carry-on baggage, there must be no luggage containing liquids, sharp metal objects, lighters, or explosives. The best carry-on bag is a backpack (don't be too big).

(Items: knives, scissors, liquids need to be placed in checked baggage for security reasons. Especially remember to weigh your luggage before bringing it to the airport if you don't want to be left behind or pay too high a fee. Please!)

1. TYPES OF PAPERS NEEDED

  •       Passport, air ticket, ID card these are the things you must always keep with you because they are very important.
  •      ✤ Photo card because photos taken in Japan to get immediately are quite expensive.
  •      ✤ Papers such as high school transcripts, identity cards, household registration books, birth certificates… Do not need and should not bring because it is easy to lose. If the above things are needed, your family can scan and send them to Japan, and Japan only requires copies, not the original. However, the opportunity to use them is almost nonexistent.

2. SHOES, CLOTHES

Japan also has 4 seasons like in Vietnam, so you should bring some summer, autumn and especially winter clothes (the winter in Japan is much colder than Vietnam).

But you should only bring a few cold items such as wind jackets, jeans, sweaters, a few pairs of warm socks… do not bring too much.

You can buy clothes in Japan because clothes in Japan are very cheap (about 2000 yen) but the quality is very good: warmer, lighter, better windproof...

Bring just enough to wrap T-shirts, underwear, clothes to wear at home…

In Japan, the main means of transportation are trains and buses, so you should bring shoes and a pair of slippers at home.

3. OTHER USES

School bags, backpacks.. Bringing one is enough. Pens, rulers, and books can be bought from the 100 yen store very cheaply, so you don't need to bring much. However, you can bring some from Vietnam. Example A black pen to fill out paperwork.

✥ Bowls, chopsticks, small household items, shampoo, bath oil... should not be brought because there are many to Japan and can be bought at a 100 yen store very cheap. You should only bring a little to use in the first 1 or 2 days.

Take care to avoid losing important personal documents such as airline tickets, passports, etc.

✥ Regarding dictionaries, you should only buy pocket dictionaries, limit large paper books, so that the space to hold other things is more useful.

✥ In the Kanji (kanji) dictionary, Do Thong Minh's Common Kanji Table is enough to use. You can easily buy English-Japanese, Japanese-English dictionary needles here.

✥ 3 x 4 and 4 x 6 photos (bring a lot): because after coming to Japan you need a photo to make an alien card. Taking photos right in Japan is about 700 yen, not cheap, so you should bring many photos with you, enough for a few years (about a few dozen photos), including: 3×4 photos, 4×6 photos. You should also save the photo of the card to a USB stick or on the Internet so that you can print it in Japan if you need it.

4. REMEMBER TO CHANGE TO JAPANESE CURRENCY

 tiền Nhật

Trainees: Usually you should bring 20,000 - 30,000 JPY (4-6 million VND). If the workers do not have money to bring, it's okay because most of you will be given an allowance of about 60,000-70,000  JPY for the first month from the factory.

International students: It will be more difficult for you to study under the self-sufficient study abroad program because it costs a lot of money for the first stage. International students should bring 10,000-150,000 JPY (20-30 million VND), then when stable, they will have money to work part-time to cover.

It is recommended to change to Japanese Yen before moving because it will be difficult to change when coming to Japan.

5. MEDICINE, HEALTH SUPPLY

The main food in Japan is seafood, so workers should bring allergy medicine to avoid allergies to seafood.

In addition, you need to bring medicine, medicine for stomach upset, indigestion, cold medicine (because Japan is quite cold), cough medicine, headache medicine, fever reducer, wind oil, etc.

Note: Medicines in Japan are quite expensive, so trainees need to prepare them from home, they shouldn't buy them in Japan.

6. FOOD

Should bring a lot of shrimp, dry food, instant noodles to eat in the early stages because you are not familiar with Japanese food. Also because Japanese food is quite expensive. It is not recommended to bring spices with sauce such as fish sauce, soy sauce, etc. because they will be detained for inspection and difficult to enter (may have to leave luggage).

7. MENTAL PREPARATION AND KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge: To live and work in Japan, you must speak and use Japanese, understand a little about Japanese culture and life.

It is recommended to learn the 2 alphabets Hiragana and Katakana by yourself first at home to avoid getting lost in the initial basic time.

You do not need and should not bring Japanese textbooks over here, because your luggage is heavy and your knowledge may not be up to date.

Spirit: When you come here, you will start your independent life, so take this time before you leave to be with family, friends and relatives.
The work schedules of Japan and Vietnam are also different, so there may be years when it is not possible to return to celebrate Tet with family. Therefore, take advantage of the time to enjoy life at home, with your loved ones to satisfy your nostalgia after coming to Japan ;)).
