CANADA LEARNING ROAD
Unlike the normal form of studying abroad, the procedure for applying for a Canadian student visa under the SDS is much simpler. However, this special form of study abroad is only available to international students from Vietnam, India, China and the Philippines. No financial proof is required, you just need to meet the following requirements:
● As a first condition, you have been admitted to a public university, or college on the list of allowed international admissions of Canada with a full-time study program.
● Your minimum IELTS level should be 6.0. And no skill below 6.0.
● You must have a receipt confirming payment of tuition fees for 1 year
● Possession of GIC investment guarantee certificate from Scotiabank
● Attended health check at least 1 week before application date
In addition, the processing time for a Canadian student visa application under SDS is also shortened faster than the normal form of study abroad. It only takes about 45 days to get the results.
So how will this route take place, let's find out with H&A!
Step 1: Choose a college, university and major
Choosing a major and school more or less also determines whether you will pass a visa or not.
Before starting to choose majors and schools, you should make sure that you have a minimum IELTS 6.0 in hand (4 skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing are all not less than 6.0). In addition, to choose the right school, you need to determine the area where you want to live in the near future. Note, choosing a major is also very important. It must be relevant to your abilities, relevant to the industry you have studied, and your orientation in the past and future. Consulates are often interested in your choice of school to determine if you actually came to Canada for the purpose of studying. If you choose the wrong school, you will most likely be rejected by the Consulate!
For example, in fact, there was a case where a student with good academic ability, GPA score above 8.0, IELTS 5.0, but chose to study at a College that failed his visa because of "insufficient finance" even though his financial records were not good enough. Your main is complete. Because the Consulate thinks that you must choose a university to study to develop yourself. So the fact that you choose a College instead of a University is because you don't have enough money to study.
Step 2: Apply for admission letter
LOA – applying for an offer of admission is a step you must proceed as soon as you choose a school to attend.
What you need to do after you have chosen the major and the school you want to attend is to contact the school to apply for an offer of admission.
Documents to apply for an offer of admission need to be translated and include:
● Passport book valid for at least 6 months
● School report book
● Past academic achievements
● High school diploma, university or college in Vietnam
● Minimum IELTS 6.0
● Other relevant papers: certificates of merit, certificates...
Step 3: Pay 1 year of tuition fees and open a secured bank account
The next important thing you need to do is open a Scotiabank account right away to receive GIC certification. And all these steps will be done entirely online. You just need to visit this website address: https://www.scotiabank.com/global/en/global-site.html. Then, fill out the application form and follow the instructions.
After creating a bank account, you need to immediately deposit 10,000 CAD into the account number that the bank has provided to you. Just completing these stages, the GIC guarantee certificate will be in your hands.
Step 4: Health check
You need to do this step 1 week before you submit your application. The medical examination to study abroad will not be the same as the regular medical examination. You need to go to the clinic addresses designated by the Canadian Consulate at 1B Pham Ngoc Thach, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City if you are in the South. Or 23rd floor, Keangnam Hanoi Landmark building, Pham Hung street, Me Tri ward, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi if in the North
The cost of medical examination for people aged 11 and over will be about 126 USD in Ho Chi Minh; and 146 USD in Hanoi. And only after about 1 week; Your medical examination results will be sent directly to the Consulate office.
