PROVISIONS ON GOODS WHEN BRING TO AUSTRALIA
GOODS TO BE DECLARED
These items must be declared and inspected by the quarantine agency for signs of pests and diseases. Some items may require treatment before being brought in.
1. Food group:
– Cooked and raw foods and their ingredients
– Dried fruits and vegetables must be commercially prepared and packaged
– Other fish and seafood products in fresh and dried form
– Noodles, vermicelli and rice
– Jambon
– Packaged food including airline food and soup
– Flavorings, seasonings and seasonings
– Herbal and traditional medicine, herbal medicine, tonic and medicinal tea
– Snacks
– Cookies, cakes and confectionery
– Tea, coffee, and milky drinks including baby formula
– Food wrapped in banana leaves is restricted
Jam products are prohibited from entering Australia.
2. Group of products from animals:
– Feathers, bones, horns and tusks
– Leathers, hides, and furskins (including animal skins and shields)
– Wool, fleece, textiles and furs
– Birds and stuffed animals (must be fully tanned. Some may be prohibited under the Rare Animal Protection Act)
– All kinds of shells including jewelry and souvenirs, and shells collected on the coast or in the sea (coral and some shells are prohibited under rare animal protection laws)
– Bee products including beeswax and honeycomb (pollen is restricted)
– Machine tools used for animals including veterinary medicine and veterinary medicine, professional shearing or butchering tools, horse harnesses, and animal or bird feathers
– Veterinary drugs require an entry permit
– Fur clothing will be discarded.
3. Herbal products:
– Wood articles and carved woodwork, whether painted or lacquered, (bark to be removed or in need of treatment)
– Artifacts or crafts made from herbal materials, carpets, bags and other things made from herbal materials, fern combs or leaves (banana goods are restricted)
– Straw products and packing with straw
– Furniture and furniture made of bamboo and rattan
– Dried flowers marinated with spices and coconut shells
– Goods containing grain, grain husks or filled with seeds
– Christmas decorations, wreaths and baubles
– Dried flowers and floral decorations
– Fresh flowers and garlands (flowers that can be grown with stems such as roses, carnations and chrysanthemums are prohibited).
4. Other goods:
– Crafts and toys made from animals or herbal materials
– Laboratory and biological materials including medical and animal samples
– Used camping and sports equipment including tents, bicycles, golf and fishing equipment
– Footwear and clothing that have been contaminated with soil, manure or herbal material.
GOODS YOU CANNOT BRING INTO AUSTRALIA
Items that are strictly restricted and cannot be brought into Australia please put them in the quarantine bins in the airport.
1. Eggs and egg products:
– All fresh, cooked, dried and powdered eggs, and products containing eggs such as moon cakes
– All dairy products (except from a country considered free of foot and mouth disease) including fresh and dried dairy products such as all-inclusive coffee three food ingredients
– Infant formula must be accompanied by a baby to be brought in.
2. Non-canned meat products:
– All fresh, dried, frozen, cooked smoked, salted or preserved meat products – from all animals
– Packaged and hermetically sealed products, including noodles and soups containing shredded meat
– Shredded chicken, beef jerky, pillowcased meat are not commercial
– Moon cakes with pork or other meat
– Pork sausage
– All animal feed including raw or canned food.
3. Fruits and vegetables:
– All fresh frozen vegetables and fruits including citrus varieties, bananas, grapefruits, persimmons, lychees, durians, mangosteens, rambutans, dragon fruit, rambutan fruits, longan, jackfruit, and star fruit
– Banana leaves and fried banana slices.
4. Herbal materials:
– All herbs with roots that do not stick to sandy soil and grown in pots, ornamental herbs, vines, branches, vines, roots, bulbs, tuberous roots, rhizomes, stems, bark and herbs The tree can germinate
– Banana, raw tobacco, lucky bamboo, green coffee beans.
5. Seeds and Fruits:
– Vegetable seeds, flower seeds and planting seeds, some commercially packaged seeds, seeds of unknown origin, jewelry seeds, bird feeders
– Pineapple, cereal, popcorn
– Raw beans, including soybeans and chestnuts.
6. Live animals:
All mammals, birds, eggs and nests, fish, snakes, turtles, geckos, scorpions, amphibians, shellfish and insects.
7. Herbs and traditional medicines:
– All treatments and medications made from or containing animal materials, e.g. deer antler velvet, deer antlers, deer penis, paw products, bird nests, frog fat/meat . Dried earthworms, dried animal carcasses, duck intestines, duck stomachs, tendons, turtles and geckos
– All treatments and medicines made from or containing herbal materials including black fungus and bark
– Bee pollen.
THINGS NEED TO NOTICE
1. Know how to declare or be aware of:
Currently all luggage is checked by quarantine staff and quarantine dogs by radio or screen upon arrival in Australia. If you do not declare or destroy items subject to quarantine, or make false statements:
– You will be arrested
– You may be fined $220 on the spot
– You can be prosecuted and fined over $60,000.00 and risk up to 10 years in prison.
2. A few guidelines to help you on arrival:
– Know your packing responsibilities so that you can declare the items on the passenger declaration form correctly
– Read the labels on food packaging to make sure they do not contain prohibited ingredients
– Prepare items that you need to declare for easy search
