DEMONSTRATE FINANCIAL STUDY ABROAD IN GERMANY
Most countries when recruiting students from abroad will offer two study abroad programs: proof of finance and non-financial proof. The program is designed to ensure that international students come to that country for the purpose of study and that they can afford to pay the costs of studying at the school. Others go under the non-financial category, this program is designed to ease the financial burden for international students who are really looking for study opportunities. Depending on the country, there will be different selection criteria, but basically all of them have a much higher level of requirements than the program with financial proof such as: degree requirements, academic qualifications, language skills,...
Studying abroad in Germany is not outside of those countries. So for you to understand more about the financial program to study abroad in Germany, let's find out with H&A through this article.
When do you need financial proof?
You need to show proof of finances when:
• You have only German certificate B1 (50% possibility) or A2 (100% possibility);
• You receive a job contract where the allowance is lower than the minimum level that the German Embassy in Vietnam requires the business to pay you, namely 939 Eu/month (may change from time to time) ;
• You have to pay other expenses (if any) when you come to Germany, such as accommodation, money for a language course to improve your language skills;
What is financial proof?
It is to prove to the German side that you have enough money to spend during your B2 language study in Germany with the necessary payment items before you can attend an official vocational course (shown in the contract you sign with the school in Germany and the company that accepts you to practice). In addition to other expenses you will have to pay while in Germany it is also necessary to show proof that you have the money to pay, in case you are not covered by any agency. Details include:
• Money you pay for living during your language learning, from 3 to 6 months;
• Payment of course fees to B2;
• Expenses and fees for B2 exam;
• Compensation for the shortfall if in case you receive a subsidy contract lower than the minimum amount required by the Embassy of 939 Eu/month during your language study, For example you receive 800 Eu/month, the University the embassy will ask you to add 139 Eu/month to meet the minimum number, multiplied by 36 months (3 years);
Financial proof for what?
If you only have a B1 or A2 degree, usually the German side will judge that you do not have the language skills to follow a paid formal apprenticeship program, so they will require you to take a B2 language course before attend that apprenticeship program, to ensure that you will be able to absorb the knowledge in the best way.
Proof of financial means is to create conditions for you to have the opportunity to improve your language skills to improve your ability to acquire knowledge, to avoid you dropping out of school because you can't follow the program, or being suspended. in the learning process.
Thus, the real purpose of financial proof, is to facilitate you, not create barriers for you, keep that in mind.
You also need to keep in mind that the money to prove your finances is YOUR MONEY, it is put into your account in Germany, and when you go to Germany, you will gradually withdraw it to spend. You don't have to spend it all, if you don't spend it all, the rest is still yours.
How to calculate money when you have to prove your finances
To calculate the amount of financial proof is also very simple, you just need to list the amounts and add them together, and subtract the amount you are supported if any.
For example, if you go to Nursing, you have to study German for 6 months before entering the major, the monthly support amount you receive under the contract is 1000 Eu/month, the B2 course fee includes the certification exam. is only 2000 Eu, then the amount to prove financial = 6 (months) x 939 + (0)x36(months) + 2000 - 0 (no support) = 7634 Eu, approximately more than 200 million.
However, the above figure is an estimate, the actual amount you need to spend to prove your finances ranges from 150 million to 200 million Vnd, depending on the contract you receive.
Is there any way to get the financial proof waived or reduced?
If you don't have enough funds to prove your finances, there are still a number of opportunities for you to get an exemption or reduction (applicable to you with a B1 or higher), including:
• Apply for a professional contract without financial proof;
• Apply for support for German B2 tuition fees, exam fees;
• Apply for accommodation and accommodation to make up for the shortfall when the employment contract you receive is lower than the minimum allowance of 939 Eu/month required by the Embassy;
• You already have a B2 degree in Vietnam, so basically you won't need to prove your finances anymore;
If you are exempt from financial proof, why still choose a program with proof of finance?
Everything has a good side, a bad side of it, we would like to give some comparisons in the table below for you to easily visualize these two programs:
NO |
ITEM |
NO PROFESSIONAL FINANCES |
HAVE FINANCIAL PROOF |
1 |
Financial |
You will save about 150-200 million. |
You will have to spend another 150-200 million for financial proof. |
2 |
Require |
Usually, nothing more than the general requirements for the apprenticeship program will be required |
Usually nothing more is required than the general requirements for the apprenticeship program. |
3 |
About the opportunity |
The better your interview results, the more likely you are to get a job in a prestigious place in Germany, your language ability is poor (even without an interview) but still get a contract. , which means the risk of falling into a bad business is higher. |
You will be in good or bad business depending on the center's partner who is doing the application for you, and their dedication and devotion to you. |
4 |
About the risk |
The fact that you pass the interview to get the contract is not due to your real language ability, but because you practice interviewing or in some way, it will lead to the wrong assessment of language ability by enterprises in Germany. your score (often higher than it actually is), causing them to admit you to the program thinking you're already qualified, resulting in the shock of not being able to keep up with the program, and the risk of dropping out. very high. |
Unless you were already planning to drop out or change your mind about the program before coming to Germany, going with a program with the CMTC will help you prepare for the language better, meaning the risk of not keeping up with your program. will be much lower. |
In addition, on the program's roadmap with financial proof, you need to: Study B2 Program within 3-6 months => get a certificate, if you fail, you will be reviewed and re-tested => study an official major instead because direct learning is always like the program without financial proof.
