I. HISTORY OF THE 6 STATES OF AUSTRALIA

From time immemorial, ancient Australians are believed to have come to mainland Australia from Southeast Asia, later by Europeans, to the point where the British began to invade and claim colonies. Each state was then a separate colony of England, until 1911 when it was Federalized, becoming the Commonwealth of Australia today.

Australia consists of 6 states, except for Northern Australia which has no state government.

II. DIFFERENT STATE AND TERRITORY AUSTRALIA

Australia consists of 6 states and 10 territories, including 3 mainland territories and 7 overseas territories. The states are New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania, respectively. Of the 10 territories that are of most interest are the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory.

The difference between states and territories lies mainly in the apparatus of government. Because the states were established before the Australian Parliament, federal law only affects the laws of each state through the Constitution, which means that each state has its own power. And territories are non-state areas, the decision-making power is in the hands of the Commonwealth of Australia or the Australian Parliament.

Particularly, the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory have the same mechanism as the states, so it is easy to get confused.

III. SOME SUMMARY OF AUSTRALIA'S 6 STATES

1. NEW SOUTH WALES STATE (NSW)

One of the six states of Australia, the state of New South Wales is located in the Southeast region of Australia, bordering the three states of Queensland, South Australia, and Victoria. With the terrain bordering the sea, the climate in this state is quite mild, warm in winter and cool in summer. Coming here, all visitors can choose from many natural landscapes to visit such as Manly Beach, Bondi in Sydney, UNESCO World Heritage Site - Blue Mountains or Budderoo National Park, ...

This is one of the most developed states of the country of kangaroos, with the capital being the busiest city in the world, Sydney. Moreover, NSW is also a center of finance and services, with strengths in many fields, so it is not difficult to understand that this is the largest state in Australia. For tourists, the attraction of NSW lies in cultural values such as: the beautiful city of Sydney with the Sydney Opera House with beautiful architecture like a masterpiece.

NSW has a population of more than 8 million people from many immigrant communities around the world, creating a multi-racial, multicultural state. This is the state where many Vietnamese people choose to settle down and live. They even created a "capital" of Vietnamese people in the northwest of Sydney, to gather, live and maintain Vietnamese culture in foreign lands.

For international students, this state is also a "paradise" when many prestigious universities in the world are located here such as the University of Sydney or UNSW. But also need to put a lot of financial considerations because New South Wales is the most expensive state in Australia. Especially if you are planning to live in Sydney or Canberra.

2. STATE VICTORIA

Located in the South of NSW, Victoria also shares some similarities in geography and climate. The climate is pleasant, neither too hot in the summer nor too cold in the winter, suitable for travel, immigration or school. The natural landscape here is diverse and rich from Otway Falls, Lake Eildon to mountains, Alpine hills or Tarra - Bulga National Park, satisfying even the most demanding guests.

Referring to the state of Victoria in the 6 states of Australia, surely everyone will immediately think of the dynamic, modern, and second largest capital of Australia, Melbourne. Although the state is the second smallest state in the country, Victoria's economy is in second place, contributing 25% to gross domestic product. In addition, the state is diverse in many service sectors, such as real estate, finance, healthcare, and education.

With about 6.6 million inhabitants, Victoria is a multi-ethnic state with immigrants from more than 200 countries. The city of Melbourne, the top 9 most livable cities according to the EIU, accounts for 70% of the state's population. The Vietnamese community in Melbourne is quite crowded, visitors or international students can find a taste of home when they get lost in markets like Springvale, St Albans or Footscray.

Victoria is an excellent choice for international students or immigrants. Satisfactory quality of life but in a relatively reasonable price, cheaper tuition than other states with a low cost of living, don't forget to add Victoria to your wishlist.

3. QUEENSLAND STATE

Next up is a state on the east coast of Australia, Queensland.

The state is located in the northeast, bordering New South Wales, South Australia and the Northern Territory on three sides. Having the second largest area in the country, the climate here has a division between the inner states, but in general, it is quite similar to the climate of Vietnam. Queensland is located near the equator, so it is also known as the "sunny state" with hot and humid weather all year round.

Similar to the previous two of Australia's six states, charming beaches are a unique tourist destination in Queensland, including the waters of Brisbane or the Gold Coast. Or most especially not to forget the Great Barrier Reef, one of the 7 natural wonders of the world!

Queensland has seen tremendous growth over the past decade, becoming Australia's third largest economy. Taking advantage of available resources, tourism and mining are two key sectors that help the northeastern state of Australia to achieve status. The capital of Queensland, Brisbane once again affirmed its rapid growth rate, becoming the "new world city".

The population is the third largest in the country, at more than 5 million people, but density is still low due to the large statewide area in Australia's 6 states. Coming to Queensland, visitors or international students can also immerse themselves in the bustling festival atmosphere all year round, not to mention the Brisbane Festival. The Vietnamese community here is also crowded, famous for the market next to Inala Plaza in Brisbane.

The state of Queensland is chosen by many international students because of its top quality of education, home to a series of prestigious universities such as the University of Queensland, James Cook University. The cost of living here is also reasonable, tuition is cheap, lower than other big cities. Moreover, students are also given the opportunity to work part-time to earn extra income.

4. SOUTH AUSTRALIA STATE

Of the 6 states of Australia, South Australia is located in the most unique position in the whole country of Kangaroo when it borders all the other 5 states, convenient for traffic, transportation and tourism. South Australia has a Mediterranean climate, characterized by four distinct seasons of the year, ideal for travel, work or school. The nature here has a different wild direction, from Kangaroo Island, the Flinders range to the Fleurieu peninsula or the Eyre peninsula.

Compared to other states, the economy of South Australia in the 6 Australian states is not equal but still stable. The state's strong industries include technology, pharmaceuticals, auto manufacturing and components. Adelaide is not only the capital but also the largest city in the state, known as the festival and wine capital of this country. The Barossa Valley is a traditional wine-growing and wine-producing area that attracts diners here.

The number of people living here is quite small, less than 2 million, partly because this is the driest area in Australia. The majority of the population is concentrated in the city of Adelaide, the most dynamic, modern area of the state of South Australia. Although the population is low, the Vietnamese community here is still large, forming neighborhoods like Arndell, Hanson or Rundell.

Adelaide is in the top 3 most livable cities in the world according to the Economist Intelligence Unit. Therefore, the quality of living here is beyond the table with an affordable cost of living, even with an average price you can still satisfy your luxury needs. Besides, education is carefully developed and invested is one thing that makes this place an ideal destination for international students.

5. WEST AUSTRALIA STATE

Coming to Australia's largest state, Western Australia occupies a part of the western territory, about a quarter of the country's area. The geographical location stretches over many latitudes, so from climate to natural scenery, there is diversity and richness. The most typical climate is still the Mediterranean type. Traveling here, visitors can choose from many forms such as rivers, mountains or national parks.

Referring to Western Australia, people immediately think of Perth, the student city. The economy of this state is the strongest in Australia, contributing a very large percentage to the national economy. In which, the tourism and export sectors account for a significant proportion, the export output is more than 40% of the whole country.

City of Perth

Occupying an area of ⅓ of the area in 6 Australian states but with a total population of just over 2.5 million people, accounting for 10%, this is a state that is considered to have a sparse population. Most of them choose to settle down and settle down in the area around Perth. Western Australia has the highest percentage of British people in Australia, so the culture here is more or less affected. However, if you miss the taste of home, then go to Mirrabooka and Girrawheen in Perth.

If Vietnamese want to study or settle down, Perth is a city not to be missed. The climate is pleasant, the cost of living is relatively cheap compared to Melbourne or Sydney, there are top quality universities such as Curtin University, the University of Western Australia, ... and government-supported scholarships.

6. STATE OF TASMANIA

The last of Australia's six states, Tasmania is the only island state that is separate from the mainland part of Australia. The state consists of the island of Tasmania and 334 surrounding islets. The climate in this state is quite temperate with four distinct seasons. Although the state is small, coming here, people still have many choices such as national parks, historic Port Arthur or wild Mount Wellington

Hobart is the capital city of the state of Tasmania. Located in the southwest, Hobart is also the second oldest city in the country of kangaroos, after Sydney. The economy of the state depends on the incentives from nature, traditional occupations such as agriculture, mining, seafood and tourism develop. In addition to Hobart, the city of Launceston is also a major economic center of this island state.

The total population is just over half a million people, so life on the island is not noisy, bustling but peaceful. Dear people, the traffic is very convenient, plus the air quality is always good, the weather is pleasant and fresh. But also for this reason, there are not many Vietnamese communities in Tasmania, so everyone should consider this when coming here to settle down or go to school.

The prestigious University of Tasmania with a long history of establishment, is suitable for individual students, and the entry requirements are not too strict and competitive. The island state government always creates favorable conditions for international students to live and settle here, in addition to providing economic support and being able to work part-time.
